CDPAC’s Third National Conference titled Integrated Chronic Disease Prevention: Taking Action Together builds on the previous two conferences and focuses on how individuals, organizations, strategies and sectors can collaboratively act on the root causes of chronic disease in Canada. Producing the greatest gains in the health status of Canadians will require urgent action that reduces the inequities giving rise to chronic diseases such as mental illness, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, kidney disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
To promote the building of a comprehensive system that reduces inequities and the chronic disease burden, the 2008 conference aims to:
Identify the key knowledge and actions required to reduce inequities andmove integrated chronic diseaseprevention forward.
Showcase partnerships that successfully address inequities related to chronic disease and demonstrate collaborative leadership.
Enhance knowledge and skills among stakeholders for integrated chronic disease prevention.
Provide opportunities to network and create linkages across individuals, organizations, strategies and sectors concerned with inequities and chronic disease prevention. |
